Friday Night Gaming
Well I think I played Metroid Prime 2 for about 90 minutes before I died twice and didn't feel like going at it again. The save distances are so freakin' long in this game, it just adds to the negativity of the clumsy transportation around the game.
I understand about changing weapons frequently with the right thumbstick and the different visors for fighting bosses, but the game should just let you open a weapon-sensitive door any way you want after you open it once.
Wasn't Metroid through Super Metroid like that?
So I got on IGN and saw they had a new peice up on Tourist Trophy. It made me have my first bad feeling about the game. Showing a run through of Laguna Seca, you could see that the track is very forgiving of running on the shoulder and the gas/break controls. I probably shouldn't complain since the controls were something that made me hate MotoGP games, but I guess after owning a bike for three years, I would learn to appreciate a good bike game from Polyphony Digital.
But the good news is that all the feeling is there from GT. The ambient menus and license testing are going to feel good. Especially since I don't see a PS3 in my future any time soon. They even showed video of fine tuning the rider. Sitting angles, arm bends, positions of the legs. Truly a neat aspect of real riding snuck in there.
