Tourist Trophy: License Test 2

Failing Tests if much more fun in this game than it ever was in GT. I think it's the sadist side of me watching the rider and/or passenger take a spill. Passengers?!

So here are some things I've gleaned from taking two license tests.

  • This is not GT. Steering is more responsive and you can crash just by digging too deep into a turn.

  • Rythm is just as important, if not more, with gas, turning, and ducking. Ducking behind the windscreen at speed and breaking will greatly inhance your times.
  • Male passengers? WTF!

  • Licenses unlock gear instead of special bikes.

  • Polyphony Digital still hasn't fixed the weird graphics buzz that occurs occasionally.

  • More polygons <> Smooth side-view mirrors. Ewww.

  • When you've got the rythm, this game is far superior to any MotoGP game. It's smooth. The controls are just right. It feels like GT4 whipping up Project Gotham all over again.
I'm going to have a lot more to say about this game. It was a major mile stone in motorcycle games, and not just because Polyphony released it, but that someone other than Namco did. Polyphony was just a bonus.
