PS3 Release Conference

So, the PS3 is coming out in November.

It costs $500, has a wireless, gyroscopic, dual-shock (minus the shock)
controller,"transcends imagination" (WTF?), costs $500, free online gaming
(with purchaseable content), is NOT a successor to the PS2 (content is
king?), features the "Spiderman" font on the case, and costs $500.

No WiFi, no memory card reader (usb extra?), no HDMI output (component
cables still?), and Blu-Ray.

Sony is really right in the thick of it. Microsoft beats everyone to the
market with the high technology. Nintendo beats everyone to the market
with innovation. Sony is left to pick up all the remains. I know the fight
was really always between MS and Sony, but you really have to set yourself
apart from your competitors these days. The PS2 didn't have any
competition when it was brought out because Nintendo was always the odd
dog, but now they've got MS this round and a $250 gaming mecca machine,
Wii.

Sony will sell millions of units, no doubt. But now they are sort of the
johnny-come-lately to the gang. And without anything cool.
