360 Withdraw

Yeah, it's been pretty rough. I've been with out the 360 for a week now and I miss it pretty good, especially with demo's of the new Splinter Cell and Rainbow 6 up on Live that I can't play.

I've been bidding my time with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, a game I had never gotten halfway through until a day or two ago. I'm not getting as frustrated as I used to with it, trying to figure out the imperfect shadow and noise system. I'm just playing it to crack some necks and finish the story. I have finally learned thought to quick save frequently.

And after a few months with solid 360-ness, the original box still has pretty good graphics. Splinter Cell was one of the prettier games in the library, with it's shiny, glistening reflections spewed everywhere in the game. The 360 has it beat in cleanliness and clarity for sure, but I don't have anything like the graphic headaches that you get when you go play the original Perfect Dark.

I also realized that the 360 has replaced my main DVD player, so coaxing Nicole into watching a Netflix rental cracks open the cut a little more as we walk back to the game room where the old DVD player sits, leaving my nice HDTV all alone.

So I know the 360 should be in Texas right now. I have no idea when to expect it back, but I'll probably give MS a call in a few days to see how things are coming. Until then, it's more Splinter Cell and Fable. Or going outside and actually doing house work.

Pshht..right. House work.
