1 Hour Review: Army of Two

EA must have been jealous with all the success that Epic had with Gears of War. It was the first console game to have such a good two-person co-op system online. Here, Army of Two, is EA's answer to that.

It immediately feels like Gears of War: it's third-person view, it's movement controls, it's character chatter. But they added more complicated weapons system and upgrades, more complex team movement in single player, and just a few more cuss words. Lots more, actually.

It's slightly lacking in the graphics department though. There just doesn't seem to be that much shiny polish. It's better than some of the other games I've seen on downloadable demos though. I'm interested to see some of the other levels. It might be because the setting of the game's time frame is real life and not a made up world. Sci-fi writing can almost always outshine today's topical fiction, mostly because it's so limited.

But basically, it's the same game as Gears of War. Just more U.S. military-ish.

I'm not exactly saddened by that fact though. I love Gears of War. I just hope Army of Two won't trash all those great memories.
