Cod4 again
I read an article today http://www.n4g.com/ClickOut.aspx?ObjID=169224 that I found to be entertaining. I can really relate. It’s about the most addictive drug today that’s not on the black market. CoD4:MW
The article made me think about that fact that it is a second job for me. I work harder at getting kills than I do in my real job, and no retirement to show for it. But damn do I feel better after a good set of matches. I feel I accomplished something. I know it’s not a big deal but I broke the 100,000 in the “kills” leader board. I’m somewhere around 98,233with over 40,000 kills, but my better half of this blog is around 1.2 million. So I feel good that I’ve got something over him. Take that!
I do spend time at work daydreaming about the maps, slowly walking through them, looking for good vantage points. Where can I get the most kills? Where will they be coming from? I love when you get to the point when you can tell that they just want YOU dead. Even if it is an objective based game, they still want to hunt you down. That is the best feeling in the world. To be hated is to be good.
I'm under 1.2 million. 1,193,000, give or take a few hundred thousand.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to figure out what the game does so well that makes it so addictive. I think it's the instant gratification online matches paired with truly balanced gameplay. Well, aside from the grenade launcher. Such a newb tool.
I know I even said that after I maxed out my character, I'd quit playing, but that is obviously not the case.
The fights are epic. The community is top notch. The game is just truly the most superb FPS I've ever played. Yes, I'm ignoring you, Halo.
