Left for Dead DLC
Valve has not announce a release date for Left 4 Dead's upcoming download able content. But they have revealed that it will be released before the Critic's Choice Edition of the game. The CC edition includes the full retail version as well as the new content, available April 21st.
The download able content will add Versus mode support to the two retail campaigns for Death Toll and Dead Air. It will also include the highly anticipated Survival mode with 12, yes I said 12 maps. Unfortunately, most of the new maps are the existing 4 maps broken down to confined areas. There is one new map that is set in a lighthouse.
Valve revealed a few more details on Survival Mode to IGN yesterday. At the beginning of a Survival match players gather up equipment and get into position before then alerting the Horde. Alerting them will be in the same way as the 4 campaigns (car alarms, big explosions, generally something noisy). Then, waves of zombies will swarm into the area, including special infected. Valve revealed that it's possible that the game could even throw two Tanks at you. The objective of Survival Mode is to record a max time. The record for survival among Valve employees is nine minutes.
If you don't have the time to commit to an entire campaign, like taking care of a newborn. Sounds like a good way to waste some time between feedings, or diaper changing.
You want to know how much I've played my 360 since I got it back? About an hour. I think Nicole has spent more time in Puzzle Quest than I have with the entire console.
ReplyDeleteThe baby is one thing, yeah. I also just bought a new car, in which I need to install lots of stuff, including a baby seat, this weekend. We also started refinancing the house today, so I can pay for said car a little easier. Then of course, there is the basement.
I tell you what, I don't exactly miss games right now though. You could say I bought a new car game, a mortgage XBLA title for a couple hundred points, and a backlog game I've been meaning to finish called "SimBasement".
I was really excited about the GTA4 DLC and the upcoming content for Burnout Paradise and Left 4 Dead. But I'm going to get this other stuff out of the way before I start wading around in the gaming pool again.
