Toys R Us Closes, I Win

Coming home from work today, on my way to a session of homework (for someone elses beer appreciation class), I had a half hour to kill. Luckily TRU was on the way.

To my suprise, they were having a 40-60% sale store-wide. That meant that 2/3 of the store was completely barren. Everything was pushed up to the front of the store and the vultures were circling.

The video games were in with the VHS tapes and DVDs. Suprisingly there were some decent titles. Even Xbox 360's Perfect Dark and Kameo, as well as some memory cards.

I was able to pick up two DS titles that I never thought were worth the full asking price: Pac-Pix and Metroid Pinball, both for $40. It was sort of a sale impulse buy, but I can see play both games as a novelty. The drawing of Pac-Man to eat ghosts is just too neat of a gaming experience not to own, and any pinball game with a Nintendo character in it has a pretty good chance of being in my collection. Especially if you let Samus out of morphball mode to shoot missles at creatures crawling around on the table.

  1. So tell me, was it a single store closing, or a massive nation-wide closing? I'm out of the toy-store loop and haven't heard anything. Maybe I can score some cheap educational games.
