Back to the VIrtual Battlegrounds
After a final round of painting and moving furniture around in the new
home office (Lowe's Island Orange paint is like visual caffeine), I
decided to jump on XBL and give Perfect Dark another go.
The first deathmatch was populated by ten year olds. Normal fair on a late
summer night. They were chatting back and forth about pretty normal things
which only annoyed me by the sounds of their high pitched squeels and
whines. But it wasn't until one of them said, "Mom is making me get off
Xbox now" that I realized it was time for me to go as well.
Another deathmatch later, a rockets free for all, a couple of twenty year
olds (who hadn't "graduated yet") were decent company. My microphone was
still off. Apparently one couldn't believe the other's parents let his
friend, a gurl, move in with him. Like...OMG!! There's |\|0 \/\/4y!!!
The last game, a round of capture the flag, was by far the best. It's
games like this that keep me coming back to online gaming. The people I
was playing with were about my age (by voice) and were totally having
normal conversations while planting laptop guns and blowing up jet packs.
There was even a girl playing, an immediate respect earner from me.
I don't know if anyone reads this blog, but my gamertag is ThrustinJ 360.
If you think you belong in a group like I described above (and I will
delete you if your not), send me an invite and let's do some things. I
don't jack about the maps in Perfect Dark, so I'm gonna need some time to
just play around. My Xbox Live Gold runs out in a couple of weeks and I'm
looking for an excuse to keep it.
