NPR: Press Start
I've been sitting on a couple of podcasts from NPR's new podcast, Press
Start, an online discussion of video games and art.
The one I'm listening to now is "Music in Video Games" and while these are
your basic NPR type of folks talking, there is a bit of geek thrown in
their voice. You can tell they are enjoying talking about this usually
taboo-in-public subject matter. And what NPR does best is being carried
over into this podcast: talk about Super "Mary-Oh" Brothers music, play
some of it in the background. Talk about how you sing Final Fantasy's
"success" music after you figure out your spreadsheet problem, actually
play it in the background while you talk.
At about 15 minutes each (there's only two so far), each episode comes to
a stop to short.
When are people going to stop podcasting and start podshowing. 30 minutes
isn't much more of a stretch, especially if your talking about games.
