Lost and Found: An Xbox 360 Story

This morning I woke up to expect a missed call from Microsoft, one they had promised me the day before to work out this whole missing 360 ordeal. Instead I got two strange emails from a weird Xbox address. They both said the same thing: that they had recieved my repair request.

This was interesting for multiple reasons. One being they either were officially starting some kind of seedy internal investigation or that they finally found my 360 and the process was starting.

I could only dream, right?

Well this afternoon I checked my email again and got this: a letter of beauty over which no other text based email could triumph.

Dear Customer,
We have received your Xbox at our service center. It is our priority to process your Xbox in a timely manner and to get it back to you as good as new. We will contact you as soon as we are finished so you can get ready to get back into the game!

Thanks,
Xbox Customer Care
I may be jumping the gun here, but I'm pretty sure this is on the same level as, "You wife just came out of surgery and she's going to be fine" and a "no, this is a real check for $1,000,000. Congratulations".

See, good things come to those who wait...and call tech support 10 times in four weeks and beg and plead to talk to a supervisor.
