Charlotte.com Gets Grief over GTA 4

You can really tell that the media is over-hyping the action in GTA 4 as not suitable for kids. Apparently the game being rated AO (Adults Only) isn't enough. So when Langston Wertz Jr. asks, "Why is this in a video game?", the intarwebs respond.

(Note: I love when he says, "I haven't played GTA IV yet.")

Here are some nice ones.

"You should be rated "S" for stupid. I've seen more graphic sexual encounters depicted in PG-13 films than in GTA series games. You admit that you haven't played the game yet, but judge it without hesitation."

"The game industry is maturing as gamers are getting older. Just as there are many violent and/or sexual rated-R movies that are clearly for adult audiences, video games will begin having that sort of distinction as well."

"Having sex with prostitutes has been a series trademark since at least the third in the series and is usually represented by the car rocking surreptitiously in a dark alley. The strip club scenes feature lap dances, with more than 1 stripper occasionally, but all of the "strippers" have their breasts and pelvic areas covered."

"Parents control access to the games their kids play. Don't blame rockstar for putting this in the game, blame the parents for letting their kids play it. Get off your moral high horse and stop being offended on behalf of others."
And finally...
Dear Langston Wertz Jr.,

You suck at your job.
